Relocation Process for Military Families

Since we work with Tri-Care military members, we understand that you may have to relocate during services. NoCal Behavioral Services is available to help your child make this move as easy and seamless as possible. Once you’ve been given your orders to a new location let us know as soon as possible. We will begin the process of building a team in your new area. If we are unable to provide services in your new location, we will work on providing some companies in the area that you can look to for services. Part of the transition process will include a “Discharge Report” where your BCBA will write a summary of your child’s progress and what goals should be addressed in the future. This report will be submitted to Tri-Care. We are also happy to provide a copy of all Treatment Plans to your family. NCBS is also happy to provide these reports to any new ABA Provider you may have in the future.

Here are the steps to ensuring your ABA Therapy will continue in a new place and remain covered under Tri-Care:
  • Once you have your new address call Tri-Care IMMEDIATELY to notify them of your move

  • Once they’ve updated everything in their DEERS (Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System) database you must start from scratch – meaning you must get an initial diagnosis and referral from your new Primary Care Manager.
    • The sooner you schedule your appointment with your new PCM, the sooner you’ll be able to began ABA Therapy again
    • You may want to do this before moving, sometimes PCMs will have waitlists for new patients

  • If we are transitioning with you and creating a team, ask that the referral be for us, if not they will give you a list of providers in your area.

  • If you are staying with us, there will be no need for a new intake, just an address update.
